The City of Toronto and Toronto Urban Growers are collaborating on the Community Engagement and Entrepreneurial Development (CEED) project to use Hydro Corridors to grow fruit and vegetable crops. Two sites have been selected for this pilot initiative and Flemingdon Park is one of these sites.
Flemo Farm is a community-owned and community-developed initiative. To accurately capture the needs and wishes of the Flemingdon Park community, consultations were held at the Flemingdon Health Centre in the fall and winter of 2015-2016, with a final project reveal in March 2016.

It took more than 5 years to secure the permits, approvals, and funding necessary to access the site, install all the necessary infrastructure, and launch the project. We are grateful for all the support we received (and continue to receive) to transform a grass area into a vibrant community space growing healthy food!
